Selena Frederick is a photographer based in Palm Desert California. Her photography work was birthed out of her love of horses which is why Cheval Photos specializes in equestrian photography. In the last year, Cheval Photos has successfully expanded into other arenas such as portraits, commercial product images for marketing/advertising/web design; and events. Aspirations into beauty and fashion photography also lay on the horizons for this young photographer.
Born in Washington State, she fell in love with horses and photography at a young age. Riding lessons began at the age of 10 and her love of horses carried through into her college career. It was in her junior year of college that she began to truly dive into the world of art. After taking art, music, film, and 3D art classes, her understanding of life and the beauty it holds went deeper and her appreciation and eye developed into locating the beauty, capturing it and communicating it through her own perspective.
Having other professional photographers and web designers as friends, she began to turn her love into a career. At the age of 27 she now travels to some of the biggest equestrian events in North America and has photographed the world’s top riders in action. Although horses and the equestrian sport one of her passions in life, she is known for capturing and artistically creating an image that evoke an emotion, feeling, or mood.
Selena's photography is diverse, as her aim is to capture the beauty and design of life. Armed with the ability to understand her client’s needs as well as provide her own artistic creativity—the end product is art that captures the intensity, beauty, and reality of a moment in time.
